Walking with Grief
“Walking with Grief” is a gentle, supportive space for anyone carrying loss—whether your grief is fresh or has been with you for years. We gather every week for a gentle walk where no words are necessary, only shared presence. Each step offers a chance to breathe, connect, and lighten what we carry together. Come as you are; every story, every silence, and every heart is welcome. In grief, even a shared step can become a moment of connection.
We’re so sorry you are on this path, but we look forward to having you join us. Emotions need movement, and grief needs connection—and here, you’ll find both. Come and spend some time walking with people who truly understand the ongoing grief journey and build your support network with those who “get it.”
We meet 10am Sundays, at Rough Island (Nelson/Tasman Region).
See the map adjacent for our meeting spot and look for the walking with grief sign to find us.
The walk is suitable for all fitness levels. There are no expectations placed on anybody, if you just wish to be around others who are walking the same path and just want to walk and not talk, that is ok.
This is a peer to peer support group run by volunteers, we are not trained therapists, just people who are travelling this road and wanting to connect with others. If you are needing further support, referrals can be provided.
This walking group is beginning Sunday November 30th and will run through until Sunday January 11th. This is the first time this has been run and we are beginning with a trial to support grievers over the holiday period.
